Charles Osei-Bonsu is an experienced corporate lawyer and seasoned human resources professional with over 30 years of combined experience across the private and public sectors. His career reflects a strong foundation in legal practice, corporate governance, and organizational leadership, particularly within complex, highly regulated environments. He currently serves as the Senior Law Lecturer and Dean of the Faculty of Law at Kaaf University College, where he contributes to legal education, academic leadership, and professional training.
Charles has held several high-level roles throughout his career, including serving as a Board Member of GLICO Pensions. From 2018 to 2020, he was the General Manager for Legal & Human Resources at the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), where he provided strategic legal advisory support, oversaw institutional compliance, and led HR transformation initiatives. Prior to this, he served as the Registrar and Chief Administrator of the Ghana School of Law and Secretary to the Board of Legal Education from 2013 to 2017, where he played a key role in institutional administration and legal education governance.
His earlier management experience spans several notable institutions, including SSB Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, State Transport Company, the Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare, and the State Insurance Company (SIC). In addition to his corporate and public-sector leadership roles, Charles also practiced as a private legal practitioner with Opoku Agyei & Co, a reputable Accra-based law firm, further strengthening his expertise in regulatory and corporate legal work.
Charles holds postgraduate qualifications in Public Administration from GIMPA, an MBA in Human Resource Management, and an LLM from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is also a qualified Barrister-at-Law, having trained at the Ghana School of Law. His professional development includes specialized executive certificates in Labour Productivity from Georgia State University, USA, and Gas Business Management from the International Human Resources Development Corporation (IHRDC) in Boston, USA.
His areas of expertise include corporate and regulatory law, particularly within the oil and gas sector, as well as human resource management, institutional administration, and organizational leadership. Charles continues to apply his diverse skill set to strengthen compliance, governance, and human capital development across the institutions he serves.
